SCR records highest-ever single-day ticket checking revenue of Rs. 1.18 cr

Hyderabad, Nov 6 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) has recorded its highest-ever single-day ticket checking revenue of Rs. 1.18 crore by registering 11,150 cases of ticketless and irregular travel during an intensive checking drive conducted across the zone on November 5, in view of the expected rush of passengers for Diwali and Chhath festivals.
According to an SCR statement on Friday, the special drive was conducted across all three divisions — Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded — on the instructions of Principal Chief Commercial Manager Ity Pandey to prevent inconvenience to genuine passengers and curb ticketless travel.
Secunderabad Division contributed the highest revenue of Rs 1.02 crore. The achievement marks a new record for SCR since the bifurcation of the zone in June 2026. The zone's average daily ticket checking revenue stands at Rs. 33.44 lakh from around 4,373 cases.
Notably, 117 women ticket-checking staff also participated in the intensive drive along with their male counterparts.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava appreciated the Commercial Department and ticket checking staff for their dedicated efforts. He said such intensive drives would help safeguard genuine passengers, prevent irregular travel and ensure smooth and hassle-free journeys for rail users.
