Shaffelburg brace fires Canada past Peru

Montreal, Oct 4 (UNI) Jacob Shaffelburg scored two first-half goals as Canada eased to a 2-0 home win over Peru in their friendly here.
The hosts went ahead in the 19th minute when Shaffelburg met Liam Millar's delivery from a set piece at the far post and took a touch before slotting a shot past goalkeeper Diego Romero on Saturday.
Millar was also the provider 16 minutes later with a driving run and cross from the right byline that again found Shaffelburg, who headed in at the back post.
Peru had only 43 percent of the possession and failed to register a shot on target at Saputo Stadium.
The South American team will conclude the current FIFA international window with a friendly against Colombia in Miami on October 6, according to Xinhua.
Canada will face the United States in Saint Paul, Minnesota, the same day.
