Sharad Pawar discharged from Pune Hospital; PM Modi calls to enquire about health, advises rest

Pune/ Mumbi, Nov 4 (UNI) In a political gesture that has sparked widespread discussion across party lines, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally phoned Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) chief Sharad Pawar following his discharge from Pune’s Ruby Hall Clinic after two days of medical care.
Urging the veteran leader to focus on his health, PM Modi remarked, "You take rest; Supriya Sule is there to handle national affairs, and we will work together with her."
The 85-year-old NCP founder was discharged after undergoing medical evaluation and treatment. Doctors confirmed that his condition is now stable and that he has left for his Mumbai residence.
Detailing the telephonic conversation, Vitthal Maniyar, a close aide of Sharad Pawar, told reporters that PM Modi extended warm wishes for a speedy recovery.
Prime Minister Modi spoke with great warmth and advised Pawar Saheb to cut down on travel and prioritise his health," Maniyar said. "The Prime Minister told him, 'Supriya is here to look after the nation's affairs—we will work with her. You must rest now and continue to guide us with your vast experience.'"
Following the discharge, Baramati MP Supriya Sule expressed her gratitude to the medical team and well-wishers.
"His health is completely stable now, and we are heading back to Mumbai. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire medical staff at Ruby Hall Clinic and to everyone who sent their wishes," Sule said.
