Shinde faction leader c fires salvo at UBT camp, dismisses murder link as 'dirty politics'

Thane, Oct 2 (UNI) In a sharp escalation of Maharashtra's political tussle, former Thane Mayor and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Minakshi Shinde has launched a ferocious counter-offensive against the Shiv Sena (UBT) leadership.
Addressing an aggressive press conference in Thane, Shinde vehemently rejected allegations linking her and her husband to the brutal murder of local UBT division chief Pradeep Purnekar. Accusing heavyweights Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, and Sanjay Raut of "playing dirty politics over a dead body," Shinde claimed the opposition camp is aggressively manipulating a tragedy to rescue its dwindling political relevance.
Shinde emphasised that neither she nor her husband were named as accused in the original First Information Report (FIR), accusing UBT leaders of staging protests and pressuring police to doctor supplementary statements.
Refuting the viral audio clip brandished by Sanjay Raut, Shinde dismissed it as a fabricated, artificial intelligence-generated deepfake intended for mud-slinging, noting she had filed a formal cyber complaint when it previously surfaced.
Turning the tables on the opposition's demands for her arrest, Shinde aggressively asked why Aaditya Thackeray remains untouched despite multiple references and allegations of evidence-tampering in the Disha Salian case files.
She alleged that the UBT faction was actively "brainwashing" the victim's grieving family members and extracting scripted statements from the deceased's young child for political mileage. Expressing absolute confidence in the Thane police, Shinde affirmed her full cooperation with the legal investigation, urging rivals to rely on judicial evidence rather than sensational media trials.
