Listing out the key initiatives, Southern Railway said it operated 132 Diwali special trains, including 62 services from other zonal Railways, providing 207 trips to meet the surge in demand during the festival season.
In addition, 22 Mail/Express trains operated during the season were augmented with additional coaches for passenger convenience, and

They also connected important destinations across the country, such as Hyderabad in Telangana, Santragachi and Shalimar in West Bengal, and Barauni in Bihar.
In addition to the normal bundobust of 300 RPF officers, additional staff of 180 have been deployed at Dr. MGR Chennai Central, Chennai Egmore, Perambur, Tambaram, Mambalam, Chennai Beach and St. Thomas Mount stations for crowd management. Further,
