Strong Maharashtra's Foundation laid during 72 hours of oath-ceremony: CM

Mumbai, May 3 (UNI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that the foundation of strong Maharashtra was laid during those 72 hours of oath-ceremony.
Speaking during the ‘Glorious Maharashtra Festival’ event organised by NCP-AP here, he said, “I didn’t become Chief Minister just twice, but three times — once for the shortest duration — and Ajit Pawar also holds the record for being Deputy Chief Minister for the shortest time. But the foundation of the strong state we see today was laid during those 72 hours.”
“It would have been better had all former Chief Ministers attended the Festival. It was not a political platform but a celebration of Maharashtra. Those who attended were honoured. I thank NCP for honouring us,” he said.
Notably, NCP has organised a beautiful festival wherein myriad shades of Maharashtra can be seen in one place. The pavilions are so well-designed that the youth must visit them. The exhibition reflects the essence of Maharashtra — its power and devotion, its great leaders and gems of the state. It presents a running history of the state, along with exhibits of art, sculpture, and food culture.
Praising the initiative, Fadnavis said the party created a “Mini Maharashtra” and pointed that the festival also showcased the fast-paced history of Maharashtra — including the struggle to form a unified state after independence, during which 106 individuals sacrificed their lives.
On the third day of Maharashtra Festival, former chief ministers of the state were honoured.
"Honouring former chief ministers from the last 65 years is a remarkable effort. All the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers who served during this period contributed to the state’s development. It is important to honour such leaders, and I commend the NCP for organising the ceremony,” Fadnavis added.
