Telangana: BJP delegation to visit Jurala project tomorrow: Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad, Sep 21 (UNI) BJP Telangana State president N Ramchander Rao on Monday said a high-level BJP delegation led by him would visit the Jurala project on Tuesday to assess water levels and farmers' problems.
Addressing the media at the BJP state office here, Rao alleged that the BRS and Congress were engaging in political controversies to divert public attention from genuine issues.
He demanded that the Congress government release water from Jurala to protect downstream crops and urged it to coordinate with the Karnataka government for releases from the Almatti and Narayanpur dams.
Rao also questioned the non-implementation of the PM Fasal Bima Yojana in Telangana and demanded crop insurance support for farmers facing losses due to El Niño conditions.
On the Ganesh immersion issue, he condemned the arrest of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi members and demanded permission for immersion of large idols, including the 70-foot idols, at Hussain Sagar as per tradition.
Earlier, Rao welcomed prominent leaders from Warangal, including a retired ITDA Project Officer and a former Joint Collector-rank officer, into the BJP by offering them party scarves.
