Telangana BJP slams Congress over voter revision protest

Hyderabad, Oct 8 (UNI) Telangana BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N V Subhash on Thursday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and other party leaders over their protest against the Election Commission’s voter-list revision process, alleging that their actions amounted to an insult to democratic institutions.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office, Subhash defended the Election Commission’s voter-list revision exercise and rejected the Congress’s allegation that 13.39 crore voters had been deleted from electoral rolls. He said the revision was part of the legally mandated process to identify absent, shifted, dead and duplicate entries.
Subhash alleged that the Congress was using the issue to divert attention from its failures in Telangana and criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for participating in protests in Delhi. He also accused the Congress and BRS of collusion and levelled several allegations against the State government.
He said the BJP would continue to raise public issues and work towards strengthening the party in Telangana. BJP state spokespersons Dr Rahul Saridena, Abhishek, Mahesh and Dr Palnati Venkat Reddy were among those present.
