Telangana to launch India’s 1st state-led AI digital infrastructure 'TGDeX' on July 2

Hyderabad, June 30 (UNI) The Government of Telangana, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is all set to launch India’s first state-led Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Artificial Intelligence (AI) — the Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX) — on July two.
TGDeX, developed by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, is powered by the Emerging Technologies Wing of the Department of ITE&C, with strategic and technical guidance from JICA's DXLab.
The platform is designed to enable access to high-quality data and collaborative tools to foster cross-domain AI solutions through partnerships between government, startups, industry players, and research institutions.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the launch of TGDeX aligns with his vision of making Telangana not just a leader in AI, but also a model for how technology can empower citizens. “I invite all ecosystem stakeholders to join us in realising this vision,” he stated.
TGDeX will leverage Telangana’s robust AI ecosystem, including state government departments, private sector players, academic institutions, and open or licensed data providers. It will also integrate with the Open Data Telangana platform, the state’s central repository of public datasets.
Key players such as the Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM), T-Hub, MATH (AI/ML Centre of Excellence at T-Hub), IIT Hyderabad, and IIIT Hyderabad will play an integral role in helping TGDeX achieve its goal of hosting over 2,000 AI-ready datasets over the next five years, an official statement said today.
