Three-day spectacular Padmavathi Parinayotsavam begins in Tirumala

Tirumala, May 6 (UNI) The three-day annual Sri Padmavathi Parinayotsavams began on a grand religious note at the Narayanagiri Gardens here on Tuesday evening.
Dasavatara-Astalakshmi Mandapam with rich fragrant traditional flowers and colourful cut flowers were used to celebrate the celestial wedding ceremony which will continue till May 8.
Around one tonne of fruits, two tonnes of traditional flowers, and 30,000 cut flowers were used to decorate the mandapam, with the efforts of 150 garden staff and 50 electrical staff under the supervision of Garden Deputy Director Sri Srinivasulu.
On the auspicious Vaisakha Suddha Navami, Malayappa Swamy arrived on the Gaja Vahanam, while Sri Devi and Bhudevi were carried on separate palanquins to the mandapam.
Interesting wedding episodes including Edurkolu, Mala Parivarthanam, Poo Bantata were performed much to the excitement of devotees.
Later, chanting of Chaturvedas and accompaniment of traditional instrumental music for various ragas including Malahari, Neelambari, Kadana Kutuhala, Varahi, Desika and more along with Roopaka, Adi, Eka talas were presented during the divine wedding ceremony.
TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, Board Member Panabaka Lakshmi, Additional Executive officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Deputy Executive officer Lokanatham, Peishkar Ramakrishna, other officials, and a large number of devotees participated.
