TPCC’s Jagga Reddy accuses BRS MLC K Kavitha of staging ‘political drama’

Hyderabad, May 4 (UNI) Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President T Jagga Reddy launched a sharp attack on BRS MLC K Kavitha, accusing her of engaging in political theatrics after the party’s defeat in the state.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Jagga Reddy criticised Kavitha—daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao—for what he called “a new tune to deceive the people of Telangana.”

He questioned why she only began speaking about “social Telangana” and public issues after losing power. “Where was this concern when your father was CM?” he asked.

Reddy contrasted the current Congress-led government with the previous BRS regime, stating that the Congress government under CM Revanth Reddy has already begun implementing true social governance, including conducting a caste census.

He noted that Kavitha’s newfound activism, such as holding protests at Indira Park, is only possible due to the freedom restored by the Congress government.

“Congress gave you the freedom to speak freely — something the BRS never allowed,” Reddy said. He further alleged that Kavitha’s recent statements inadvertently admitted the BRS’s failure over the past decade to address social inequality in Telangana.

Dismissing Kavitha’s remarks as scripted drama, he asserted, “This is the people's rule, not your father's acting rule.” He reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to democratic values and freedom, asserting that the people trusted the party for a reason and would continue to do so. UNI VV SSP
