Tripura: CM launches Rs 40 crore development project in Unakoti district

Agartala, Oct 12 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today accused the former Left Front government of failing to improve citizens’ lives despite its long tenure.
Speaking at the launch and foundation-laying ceremony for 21 projects worth more than Rs 40 crore in Unakoti district, he said Tripura had become one of India’s leading states for development. The BJP-led government, he noted, is driving growth across every sector and community through new projects across the state.
Saha challenged claims that the Left Front had ushered in a “Swarna Yug,” or golden age. He said it left the state with about Rs 13,000 crore in debt. “Before we took office in 2018, we were told a golden age was underway. Instead of wealth, we found debt. If the previous government had done major development work, it would have been easier for us to move ahead,” he said.
He said his government aims to turn development into tangible benefits, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. That means better education, healthcare and communications, along with broader socio-economic progress.
Saha said the “dual-engine” government was moving ahead with strong momentum and urged opposition parties to join development efforts rather than mislead the public.
Under Modi’s leadership, India is advancing, and Tripura is moving with it, he added. “We must work together to build a New India and a New Tripura.”
