Tripura police man suspended after being caught in a compromising position with colleague

Agartala, Oct 29 (UNI) A police constable was suspended on Thursday after primafeci facie evidence of his indecent conduct with a female colleague inside the vehicle during duty on Oct 26 night in Tripura’s Gomati district.
According to the report, villagers caught Kakraban police station constable Priyotosh Rudrapaul with a female colleague in a compromising situation inside a vehicle near Ampi, in Amarpur. His wife was among those who confronted them. The pair had left their duties to drive around.
Gomati SP Anirban Das suspended Priyotosh for dereliction of duty.
Police sources said Priyotosh, a native of Ampi, was posted at Kakraban police station in Udaipur. Although married, he had developed an illicit relationship with Tokhmoni Debbarma, a constable at R K Pur police station.
Assigned to night duty at Kakraban on Monday, he left without permission, picked up Tokhmoni from her station, and drove around Ampi. Residents recognized the pair; Priyotosh’s parental home and in-laws’ home are both in the area. They found them in a parked vehicle beside the road.
After being alerted, Ampi police took both constables to the station. Tokhmoni was released on a personal bond, while Priyotosh was held and district police officials were informed. He was suspended but not arrested because the incident did not amount to a cognizable offence. Tokhmoni received a stern rebuke and warning.
