Tripura's first homoeopathic college starts journey

Agartala, Oct 8 (UNI) Tripura has made a remarkable stride in enhancing its homoeopathic medical education and healthcare services with the inauguration of the Government Homoeopathy Medical College and Netaji Subhash Homoeopathic Hospital, at Renters Colony in Agartala.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday said that the new facility represents a significant milestone in the state's efforts to advance its healthcare and educational prospects in medicine. The establishment of this medical college and hospital aims to broaden the scope of homoeopathic education while bolstering access to quality homoeopathic healthcare services across Tripura.
He highlighted the growing public trust in homoeopathic methods and expressed optimism about the institution's potential to significantly contribute to the domain and its development within the state.
The facility, he noted, is set to provide local students with opportunities to pursue formal education in homoeopathy while simultaneously playing a vital role in improving healthcare delivery. In addition to its academic and healthcare goals, the institution is also expected to create job opportunities in areas such as medical education, clinical care, administration, and associated healthcare services.
The Netaji Subhash Homoeopathic Hospital will further strengthen Agartala's healthcare infrastructure and benefit nearby regions, providing much-needed medical support. Meanwhile, the accompanying medical college aims to foster a new generation of skilled homoeopathic practitioners, thereby addressing a pressing need for trained professionals in this field.
The development aligns with the Tripura government's broader strategy of expanding healthcare infrastructure and improving access to diverse medical treatment systems throughout the state. The new institution is envisioned as both an academic hub and a hands-on healthcare provider, merging education with service delivery to better address community health concerns, Dr Saha added.
