TVRF alleges large-scale wrongful deletions in SIR, demands rollback

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (UNI) The Telangana Voter Rights Forum (TVRF) on Tuesday alleged serious irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, claiming that several eligible voters were wrongly deleted in Musheerabad and Secunderabad Cantonment constituencies following a social audit and public hearings.
Addressing a press conference at Basheerbagh Press Club, the forum said its volunteers surveyed 757 voters in Booths 150 and 151 of Secunderabad Cantonment, of whom 232 were placed in the ASDD category, including 43 alleged wrongful deletions. In Musheerabad, 42 of the 95 deleted voters surveyed were found to be allegedly wrongfully removed.

Other public jury members, including Prof G Haragopal, Prof Padmaja Shah and human rights lawyer SQ Masood, also highlighted alleged flaws in the SIR exercise.
