Two bike thieves arrested in Nashik, 8 motorcycles seized

Nashik, July 1 (UNI) The Crime Investigation Team of the city police has arrested two bike thieves from different places and seized eight two-wheelers worth Rs three lakh from them.
Investigation revealed that both the accused had stolen vehicles from the limits of police stations in Nashik and other districts, and a total of eight motorcycles have been seized from their possession.
According to police, acting on a complaint of theft of a two-wheeler from near the Nashik Road bus stand, a Crime Investigation team was formed.
Acting on a confidential information, the team laid a trap at the Shindegaon toll plaza area and arrested Prakash Gopinath Gonke (resident of Ubade, Ghoti, Igatpuri).
During subsequent investigation, five stolen two-wheelers were recovered from him.
He is a criminal on record and already has three cases registered against him.
In another incident, police started investigation based on a complaint of the theft of a two-wheeler from Shivshakti Nagar, Nashik Road, one Tushar Barku Gorde (resident of Datli in Sinnar tehsil) was arrested from the Sinnar Phata Market area.
Police recovered three two-wheelers from him. He also has cases of 12 thefts, aggravated robbery and serious crimes registered against him.
Both the arrested accused have confessed to stealing motorcycles from Shahapur, Bhiwandi taluka, Khadakpada, Titwala along with Nashik Road, and more crimes are likely to be revealed during further investigation.
