Union Minister Chouhan urges states to review outdated laws, procedures

Hyderabad, Sept 18 (UNI) union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday urged state governments to review outdated laws, rules and procedures and amend them wherever necessary to reduce the burden on citizens.
He said “ Rules are meant to serve people and should not become a burden”.
Addressing the Southern Regional Agriculture Conference here, Chouhan said If any issue requires intervention by the Centre, states should communicate their suggestions to the Government of India.
Chouhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had emphasised that government should be visible in people’s lives and not remain confined to files.
He said the Centre would undertake reforms within its jurisdiction, while states should make changes to laws and procedures under their control.

AP Govt approvers Rs 22,177 Cr worth 28 projects

Vijayawada, Sep 18 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday approved 28 industrial proposals with investment of Rs.22,177.84 crore creating employment opportunities for 19,739 youth.
The proposals covered various sectors including energy, IT and communications, food processing, manufacturing and tourism. The Chief Minister directed the officials to create a comprehensive port infrastructure ecosystem along the State’s coastline.

AP: 1,970 liquor shops opt for renewal, Rs 403 25 crore collected from 1,220 shops

Vijayawada, Sep 18 (UNI) As on date, 1,970 of the 3,652 shops in Andhra Pradesh have opted for licence renewal for 2026-27, with 1,220 shops making full or partial payments and Rs 403.25 crore collected towards renewal and related charges.

AP: Approvals accorded for Rs 661 Cr worth Assembly building construction
