Union Minister suggests Centre of Excellence in Telangana; CM Revanth seeks Central support for Skill University

Hyderabad, June 15 (UNI) Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary has proposed the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in Telangana focusing on VFX, Gaming, and Audio-Visual sectors.
He made this suggestion during a meeting with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his residence on Sunday.
The Union Minister said such a centre would greatly enhance skill development among students enrolled in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). In response, the Chief Minister assured that a Centre of Excellence will be established within the Young India Skill University and linked with ITIs across the state. He also requested the Union Minister to extend central support to the university under the National Skill Training Scheme.
Appreciating the initiative, Jayant Chaudhary congratulated the state government for setting up the Skill University and suggested that free electricity be provided to all ITIs to encourage a better learning environment. Responding positively, the Chief Minister directed officials to install solar power systems in ITIs to ensure uninterrupted and sustainable power supply.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also stressed the importance of keeping ITI curricula aligned with the latest industry requirements. He instructed officials to constitute a special committee to regularly review and update the syllabus.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Ajith Reddy, CEO of CMO Industries and Investments Jayesh Ranjan, Special Secretary of the Industries Department Vishnuvardhan Reddy, and officials from the Central Skill Development Department, an official statement said.
