UP: Akhilesh urges peaceful celebrations after MLC wins, expands PDA slogan to include Agrawal community

Lucknow, Oct 28 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday congratulated the party’s winning MLC candidates and their supporters, urging them to avoid victory processions and celebrate peacefully, while accusing the BJP of electoral malpractice in the recent MLC polls.
In a series of social media posts, Yadav warned party leaders and workers against any disturbance, alleging that the BJP could exploit such incidents to malign the SP ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
“No commotion or processions should be organised, so that BJP members cannot infiltrate our midst and disrupt the atmosphere and accuse us of rioting,” he said, urging party workers to remain vigilant against what he described as conspiracies and false allegations.
"We must avoid all kinds of conspiracies and false accusations, as the assembly elections are approaching. The BJP can tarnish our image at any time by plotting hooliganism," he warned the party leaders and workers.
Yadav said he would personally meet the winning candidates and their supporters wherever possible. He also asked the elected MLCs to prepare lists of workers, office-bearers and well-wishers who have supported their campaigns, assuring them of recognition for their efforts.
In another significant announcement, the SP chief coined a new slogan that the 'A' in 'PDA' now also stands for 'Aggarwal-Agravanshi.'
He said that the way the BJP and its allies treated Dr. Akash Agarwal during the Agra MLC elections—bringing tears to his eyes and tearing his clothes—had left the entire Agrahari community deeply hurt, pained, and humiliated. Today, the community feels betrayed and oppressed, and our slogan is, “Whoever is oppressed is PDA!” he said.
“Today, with the entire Agrawal community joining us, we feel our strength has increased exponentially. With the support of such an important community, which is strong both educationally and professionally, our support base and morale have grown further. Now, the PDA’s fight has truly become a battle between 5% BJP and 95% PDA.
“The ideals of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia ji were our guiding light yesterday, are our guiding light today, and will remain so tomorrow. #The_Victim_Is_PDA,” he commented.
Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav slammed what he described as corrupt BJP members, their conspiratorial allies, and officials who stooped to every level to win the MLC election.
He alleged that the conspiracy to defeat Dr. Sanjayan Tripathi in Gorakhpur has been exposed for all to see.
“The reason behind Dr. Sanjayan Tripathi’s defeat through vote-counting fraud is not simply that he is an SP candidate; the primary reason is the party’s ‘unwillingness to accept the outcome.’ The BJP has hit a new low in politics. Following such massive fraud, the public has realised that the BJP has actually lost every seat. The BJP wins through fraud, not votes,” he claimed.
The SP president said, “The entire community is witnessing the harassment of Dr. Sanjayan Tripathi. His community and the state’s teachers will never forget Dr. Tripathi’s tears.”
“Teachers have received nothing but humiliation under the BJP. Every teacher will remember the conspiracy to make teachers perform the most degrading tasks, including collecting fodder, and will fulfil their ‘Guru Sankalp’ by defeating the BJP in the 2027 Assembly elections. We stand united against the BJP and will continue to oppose every act of injustice and oppression against Dr. Sanjayan Tripathi and his community,” he declared. UNI MBD AAB
