UP spices conference 2026 focuses on technology, value addition and global competitiveness

Lucknow, Oct 3 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh needs to move beyond increasing spice production and focus on technology, processing, quality assurance and value addition to capture a larger share of the global spice market, participants at the 6th Uttar Pradesh Spices Conference and Expo 2026 said on Saturday.
The conference brought together government officials, policymakers, scientists, spice manufacturers, exporters, farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and industry representatives to discuss the next phase of the state's spice economy.
The event was organised by the Centre for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD), with 3EA Global as knowledge partner.

Major fire erupts at Tata Projects workers’ colony near Lucknow airport

Lucknow, Oct 6 (UNI) A major fire broke out at the Tata Projects workers' colony, located near the Laxman Chowk area, approximately 800 meters from the Choudhary Charan Singh International Airport, at around 6.55 am on Tuesday.
According to airport officials, upon receiving the information, the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) team responded immediately and dispatched a Domestic Fire Tender (DFT) to the scene.
