Uttarakhand govt makes 'Hanuman Ansh' tax free

Dehradun, Sep 16 (UNI) The Uttarakhand government has decided to make the much-talked about religious film 'Hanuman Ansh' tax free, to help more people watch the movie based on the life of Hindu seer Baba Neeb Kirauri from Nainital who has huge followers globally.
Sharing the information, Uttarakhand director general, Directorate of Information and Public Relations(DIPR) Banshidhar Tiwari informed that the decision to make screening of the Hindi film 'Hanuman Ansh' tax free was taken after due consideration by the state government.
He said, "The State Government will reimburse the SGST paid within the state on the service provided by multiplexes, cinema halls through entry tickets for the movie titled 'Hanuman Ansh'. However, Multiplexes and cinema halls must regularly pay SGST and CGST during the specified period as well."
"They will raise sales invoices (ticket cost) to the customers, but the tax amount under SGST will not be collected from them. Multiplexes and cinema halls would also have to ensure that tax amounts are printed on the tickets issued for the period of screening the movie. SGST will not be collected by the order of the Uttarakhand government" said Tiwari.
If the SGST charged in the sales invoice has been collected from the customer by the multiplexes/cinema halls, then reimbursement of SGST will not be payable to them under this scheme.
"The decision aims at promoting more and more people to watch this movie as it's a biopic of renowned spiritual saint and Hanuman devotee Baba Neeb Kirauri,"added Tiwari.
