Arya lodged a formal compaint against her husband Girdhari Lal Sahu, after receiving an audio clip of his talking to a woman that went viral on social media.
The First Information Report registered at Dehradun Cantonment Police Station booked Sahu under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 323 (inflicting physical harm), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for cheating), 420 (cheating), 471 (use of forged documents,) 495 (bigamy concealing previous marriage), 498A (cruelty), 504 (intentional insult to provoke a breach of peace) and 406 (criminal breach of trust), of Indian Penal Code 1860.
Sahu has also been charged under Sections 3(1) and 3(2) of the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribes Act 1989.

In her complaint, Uttarakhand's lone woman cabinet minister alleged her husband Girdhari had been beating, hurling abuses and making casteist remarks with threat to life for her objections to his adultry and extramarital affairs.
Complaint lodged by Arya in FIR read, "The applicant is a member of the Scheduled Caste notified in the State of Uttarakhand. The marriage of the applicant was solemnised with Girdhari Lal Sahu (Pappu Girdhari), resident of Shri Baba Bankhandi Nath Temple, Jogi Nawada, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, on July 07, 2004 according to Hindu rituals."

Rekha Arya said in the complaint that her husband was not a member of scheduled caste or scheduled tribe communities. According to the minister, despite he being aware of this fact she was abused by Sahu for her caste.
She further alleged that Sahu kept her in dark about his past marriage, claiming that he was unmarried. Arya mentioned that she subsequently came to know the truth along with the fact that Sahu also had children from his previous marriage.
According to Uttarakhand minister's complaint, she kept silent on the matter after persuasion by the family and for the future of her children.
However, Sahu's behaviour towards the applicant began to change and it came to light that he has extramarital relations with other women. "When the applicant objected to this, my husband acknowledged his mistake and gave written and verbal apologies but he continued his adultery even after the apologies," read the FIR.
Uttarakhand minister further alleged in the complaint that when she objected to his extramarital relations "Sahu began beating, hurling verbal abuses and threatened her with death. He threw derogatory casteist slurs on multiple occasions in the presence of staff at the applicant's official residence."
Arya charged in the FIR "Girdhari Lal Sahu forged the applicant's signatures and removed her as company director in relevant companies on the basis of fake documents, whereas neither any such document was executed nor did she tendered her resignation."

She claimed in the FIR that she was in receipt of an audio clip, in which Sahu was heard talking to a woman and conspiring to kill her.
Arya alleged "the applicant is continuously facing a threat to her life and the lives of her minor children. This person can cause any big incident any time."

Meanwhile, Dehradun police has claimed that FIR was filed against Sahu on Thursday night and investigation is on for further action.
Effort is on to find the whereabout of accused man.
"Matter is under investigation. Effort is on to find the accused," said SSP Parmendra Singh Dobhal.
