Yogi renames Atiq Ahmed's Kasari-Masari as Shri Krishna Puri; To build flats for poor

Prayagraj, Oct 15 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced the renaming of Kasari-Masari, the area of late mafia leader Atiq Ahmed, to Shri Krishna Puri.
CM Yogi said that the name Kasari-Masari sounded like a butcher's name. He also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for flats to be built on government land freed from the possession of Atiq and his henchmen.
Yogi said,"Now the government is building houses for the poor on the land of the mafia."
This residential project, to be developed by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA), will consist of a 14-storey building. It will have a total of 602 flats.
Each flat will have two bedrooms, a hall, and a kitchen.
On the occassion CM Yogi said, "Today, the mafia can't pry. They can't seize property. We'll even confiscate ancestral property. We need to provide a secure environment so that the youth can find employment, the poor can find housing, and they can live a good life by taking advantage of good governance."
He also said construction of a large bridge over the Ganges River in Prayagraj's northern city has moved forward.
CM Yogi said, "Now, if any mafia dares to commit a crime in Prayagraj, they will be crushed to dust. No one will dare to indulge in mafia activities in Prayagraj."
He said, "This place was previously a den of debauchery for the mafia Atiq. Mafia Atiq and his goons had encroached upon 15 bighas of land and turned it into a den of debauchery. It was liberated from that."
CM Yogi said, "When the BJP government was formed, we decided to make Uttar Pradesh safe. We have to bring in good governance. There should be rule of law; everyone comes to Prayagraj seeking justice.
"We launched a campaign to establish the rule of law. We made Uttar Pradesh mafia-free. MLA Raju Pal was murdered on this very land of Prayagraj. He was shot dead in public.
"The mafia should be punished for their actions. This is the result. We are distributing houses on land freed from the mafia."
