Young woman injured after being hit by car driven by former lover in Lucknow

Lucknow, Sep 16 (UNI) A young woman was hit by a car and dragged for some metres before being run over by the car, which was allegedly driven by her former boyfriend, in Lucknow today. Miraculously, the woman survived.

After being hit, the young woman screamed, but the accused didn't stop the car. After driving 20-25 meters, he increased his speed. The girl fell onto the road, and the accused ran over her before fleeing.

The incident occurred on Wednesday near Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomti Nagar Extension.
A video of the incident has surfaced. The young woman sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Police have arrested the accused, identified as Shahnawaz, while the victim was reported to be his girlfriend.

According to the police, the victim caught Shahnawaz with his new girlfriend. This led to a fight between the two. Shahnawaz tried to flee in his car, but the women stood in front of the car to stop him. Shahnawaz then tried to kill her.

The victim further alleged before the police that Shahnawaz lured her into a trap by pretending to be Yash Thakur.
Police have currently filed a case of attempted murder against Shahnawaz.
