BJP questions Kejriwal over exit of women leaders, raises Santosh Koli, Soni Mishra cases

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) The Delhi BJP on Saturday questioned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal over the departure of several prominent women associated with the party and the India Against Corruption movement, following AAP leader Priyanka Kakkar's decision to join the Congress.
Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said Kakkar's exit was not surprising but once again raised questions about the circumstances in which several women leaders who had associated themselves with Kejriwal eventually parted ways with him and the AAP.
"The people of Delhi and the country want to know from Arvind Kejriwal why most of the women leaders who joined him either during the formation of India Against Corruption or at the time of the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party eventually found themselves in circumstances that led them to part ways with him," Kapoor said.
He specifically referred to Kiran Bedi, Anjali Damania, Madhu Bhaduri, Shazia Ilmi, Richa Pandey, Swati Maliwal and Priyanka Kakkar, asking Kejriwal to explain why they ultimately left the party or his political camp.
"The people of the country want to know from Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal what circumstances arose that led Kiran Bedi, Anjali Damania, Madhu Bhaduri, Shazia Ilmi, Richa Pandey, Swati Maliwal, and now Priyanka Kakkar to leave his company and part ways with him," he said.
Kapoor further questioned the AAP leadership over two cases involving women that he alleged had remained unanswered by Kejriwal.
"The country once again asks Arvind Kejriwal why he did not launch any movement over the alleged accidental death of Ms. Santosh Koli, and why he continues to retain in the AAP a person accused of driving Ms. Soni Mishra to suicide," the BJP spokesperson said.
He also asked Kejriwal to explain why women leaders had become "disillusioned" with the AAP.
"Kejriwal must answer why women leaders become disillusioned with his party," Kapoor said.
The BJP's remarks came amid the latest political shift involving Priyanka Kakkar, who has moved from the AAP to the Congress, with the opposition party seeking to use her departure to question the functioning and leadership of the AAP. UNI PWS SAS
