Former CM Jagan Reddy demands Edu Minister Lokesh's resignation for alleged irregularities in DSC

Vijayawada, Sep 21 (UNI) Training his guns on the Chandrababu Naidu government, former Chief Minister and YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday demanded the resignation of Andhra Pradesh education Minister and the ruling TDP's heir apparent Nara Lokesh owning responsibility for irregularities in the DSC teachers recruitment.
Reddy asked the incumbent Chief Minister why he was so afraid and agitated on the demand for a CBI inquiry into the DSC scam. "Can you and your son, Education Minister Nara Lokesh simply certify your own recruitment process as transparent? What value does a self-issued certificate from those accused of committing the scam carry? Stop making empty claims. If you have the courage, agree to a CBI inquiry," he said.
"The incidents which took place in Vijayawada today show how far your government has fallen. Our party leaders, along with students and unemployed youth, attempted to conduct a peaceful rally demanding a CBI inquiry. But the police blocked them, subjected them to a lathi-charge and allowed your goons, disguised as teachers, to attack them. Does the Opposition not even have the democratic right to hold a peaceful rally?" he asked.
Alleging that the government is resorting to such desperate measures because serious irregularities have occurred in the DSC recruitment, he said the Chief Minister and his son Lokesh were unable to answer the questions being raised on the DSC.
"We are seeking an impartial CBI investigation into irregularities in the teachers' recruitment process connected to the futures of lakhs of candidates. If you are so confident that nothing improper happened, why are you afraid of an investigation, particularly when so much evidence has emerged," he further asked.
Reddy lamented that because of the alleged irregularities committed in the DSC teacher recruitment process, unemployed youth and job aspirants have lost confidence.
"Education Minister Nara Lokesh must accept responsibility for the DSC irregularities and resign. The government must order a CBI inquiry. Until these demands are met, our voice will continue to resonate across the State," Reddy reiterated.
