NDMC Suvidha Camp receives 91 grievances, over 100 officials join citizen interface

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Saturday organised its monthly Suvidha Camp at the NDCC Convention Centre on Jai Singh Road, with more than 100 officers and staff from 30 departments participating in the exercise aimed at ensuring prompt and time-bound redressal of public grievances.
NDMC Secretary Rahul Singh led the officials at the camp and personally supervised the handling of complaints. He interacted with citizens, reviewed the nature of grievances and issued directions to heads of departments for qualitative and time-bound resolution of the issues.
Singh also stressed the need to leverage the Jan Suvidha Portal to ensure faster and more transparent grievance redressal, while emphasising that citizen satisfaction should remain at the core of service delivery.
NDMC Chairman Manoj Kumar Dwivedi said the civic body had organised the camp with citizens and employees at the centre of its governance approach.
“Keeping our citizens and employees at the centre of governance, NDMC organised its monthly Suvidha Camp at the NDCC Convention Centre. The Suvidha Camp is our single-window platform for information, facilitation and grievance redressal, enabling direct interaction between residents and senior officials,” Dwivedi said.
He said the Secretary, along with heads of departments, would deliberate on measures to make the initiative more effective and outcome-oriented.
“Our guiding principles for the camp will be quicker resolution of matters, root cause analysis of repeated grievances and bringing about systemic improvements in service delivery,” the NDMC chairman said.
Dwivedi said the feedback received during the camp would be used to improve the existing mechanism.
“Based on today's feedback and review, we shall make suitable changes to the system and launch Suvidha Camp 2.0 soon, to further strengthen transparent, responsive and citizen-centric governance,” he said.
The camp received 91 public grievances, which were taken up by the concerned departments. A majority of the complaints related to the Personnel, Civil Engineering, Horticulture, Public Health, Enforcement, Commercial, Tax and Estate departments.
Besides registering grievances, a large number of citizens approached the camp seeking information and guidance about various civic services and welfare initiatives of the NDMC.
The direct interaction between citizens and departmental officials was a key feature of the camp, enabling officials to understand public concerns and initiate action on the spot. Issues requiring policy-level consideration were also discussed, with citizens being informed about the prescribed procedures and expected timelines.
More than 100 officials representing 30 departments took part in the exercise, while help desks were supervised by the respective heads of departments.
The NDMC is also seeking to strengthen its digital grievance redressal mechanism through the Jan Suvidha Portal, which allows residents and service users to lodge complaints, track their status in real time and provide feedback after resolution.
The civic body also monitors complaints received through its official social media platforms, with the concerned departments directed to attend to such grievances on priority.
The monthly Suvidha Camp is part of the NDMC's efforts to provide residents with a direct interface with senior officials and create a more accessible and accountable mechanism for addressing civic concerns. UNI PWS CDS
