Taiwan-based air carrier set to launch direct flights from Delhi to Taipei

New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) Set to become the only Taiwan-based airline to operate direct flights from Delhi to Taipei, EVA Air is geared up to launch the service starting December 1, officals said.
The service will be five times in a week, aimed to cater to the tourism industry as well as strenghthen connectivity between India and Taiwan.
The travellers will be offered business class, and economy options on the Delhi- Taipei direct flight, which is expected to cater to the growing business across different domains.
Once operational, the direct flight is expected to give Indian passengers access to the airline's network across different zones, including North- East, South East Asia, Europe, and China etc.
Recently, a senior official of the air carrier during an event here had shared that the initiative is not just about directly connecting Delhi with Taipei, but also having a gateway for travellers here, onwards to North America, and other international destinations.
The airline has said it would like to work in coordination with travel associates in India to build the new route better, while also creating avenues for tourism and positive exchanges between the markets.
Taiwan is said to be emerging as a popular, non-traditional tourism destination among Indian travel enthusiasts, while earlier it was regarded mostly as a hub for the tech-industry people and corporates.
According to reports, Taiwan is also considered as a safe and welcoming destination when it comes to solo travelers.
