TGCSB to Organise 2-km Night Walk in Hyderabad on October 1 to Raise Cyber Fraud Awareness

Hyderabad, Sept 28 (UNI) The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) will organise a 2-km night walk at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road on October 1 to raise awareness about cyber fraud and promote safe digital practices as part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
Titled ‘Cyber Security Flash – Pause for Safety’, the event will begin at 5 pm under the theme ‘Hyderabad Hits Pause – Walk. Pause. Light up against cyber fraud’, the Bureau said in a release here on Monday.
Participants are encouraged to carry their mobile phones and switch on their flashlights during the walk to symbolise collective vigilance against cybercrime.
The initiative will mark the launch of a month-long cybersecurity awareness campaign across Telangana, aimed at encouraging citizens to adopt safer digital habits.
The campaign’s central message is ‘Pause. Think. Verify’, urging people to verify the source of calls, messages, suspicious links and customer-care numbers before sharing personal information or making payments.
The month-long programme will include awareness sessions, skits, street plays, poster exhibitions, pledge programmes, quizzes, competitions and social media campaigns. Awareness posters will also be displayed in local supermarkets, while Kalabrindam personnel will be engaged in outreach activities.
The campaign will culminate on October 31 with simultaneous Cyber Security Flash walks across Telangana’s districts, to be flagged off by the respective Superintendents of Police.
TGCSB has invited students, families, professionals, senior citizens and other members of the public to participate in the Hyderabad event. The bureau has also urged victims of financial cyber fraud to immediately call the National Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930 and report the incident promptly.
