Andhra: Foundation stone laid for Integrated Compressed Bio-Gas plant

Ongole, AP, Apr 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for the Integrated Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plant being established by the Reliance New Energy near Divakarapalli village in P.C. Palli Mandal Kanigiri constituency.

Reliance Industries Director P.M.S. Prasad, Reliance Industries Limited AP & TS Mentor P.V.L. Madhava Rao, and Reliance Bioenergy CEO Harindra K. Tripathi participated in the groundbreaking ceremony alongside Minister Lokesh.

Spanning 475 acres, this state-of-the-art CBG plant is being set up with an investment of Rs 139 crore and a production capacity of 100 tons. The project is the first of Reliance’s 500 CBG plants in the state, marking the first milestone in this ambitious plan.

Reliance Industries is investing a total of Rs 65,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh, which is expected to generate employment and livelihood opportunities for approximately 2.5 lakh individuals. The company is also setting up four CBG hubs across India, with one of them strategically located in Prakasam district.

Upon arriving at the plant site, Minister Lokesh was warmly welcomed by coalition representatives, TDP leaders, and party workers. Acknowledging the enthusiastic reception, he greeted the attendees as he made his way to the event.

Several distinguished guests participated in the ceremony, including Ministers Gottipati Ravi Kumar and Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand, District Collector A. Thameem Ansari, MLAs Mukku Ugra Narasimha Reddy, M. Ashok Reddy, Madduluri Malakondaiah Yadav, Inturi Nageswara Rao, MLC Kancharla Srikanth and Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Nookasani Balaji. UNI DP SSP
