Charminar charms World: Miss World 2024 contestants celebrate Hyderabad's heritage

Hyderabad, May 13 (UNI) As part of the Miss World 2024 celebrations hosted in Hyderabad, 109 contestants representing countries from across the globe took part in a vibrant Heritage Walk at the iconic Charminar on Tuesday, immersing themselves in the city's rich culture and history.
The world-famous monument, standing tall for over five centuries, welcomed the international beauty queens with grandeur. Local artistes greeted them with traditional Arabic Marfa music, and several contestants enthusiastically joined in the rhythmic dance, adding colour and energy to the occasion.
The Charminar and its surroundings transformed into a global cultural showcase, as the contestants participated in a special photoshoot, greeted the public from a stage near the monument, and enthusiastically captured the architectural splendour on their mobile phones.
In a tribute to Hyderabad’s vibrant market culture, the contestants explored the bustling Chudi Bazaar near Charminar, shopping for bangles, pearl necklaces, and local decorative items. Many observed the traditional bangle-making process up close, appreciating the craftsmanship of the local artisans.
The event showcased not just the beauty of the contestants but also the cultural essence of Hyderabad to a global audience. The heritage walk was more than a tourist moment—it was a celebration of cultural harmony, artistic excellence, and international goodwill.
The Charminar event concluded with grandeur, and celebrations continued at the historic Chowmahalla Palace, where the Telangana government hosted a lavish banquet in honour of the Miss World contestants.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, ministers, officials, and dignitaries from various fields will attend the gala evening.

Anantapur, May 13 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for BC Welfare S Savitha reiterated the Government’s commitment to provide required infrastructure to establish industries and encourage enthusiastic entrepreneurs.

Minister Savitha performed bhoomi pooja for the establishment of MSME Park at Roddam in Penukonda constituency on Tuesday. The MSME Park is coming up in 59.37 acres of land.
