Day temperatures below normal in South Bihar, north Jharkhand

Pune, Mar 21 (UNI) Day temperatures were below normal by 2-5°C over some places over south Bihar, north Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, southeast Uttar Pradesh and northeast Madhya Pradesh on Friday, the India Meteorological Centre said in its bulletin.
The day temperatures were above normal by 2-4°C over Jammu division, east Punjab, west and central Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha and near normal over rest parts of the country. On Thursday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.1°C was reported at Anantapur (Rayalaseema) over the country.
Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Odisha; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Bihar and isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the IMD said.
The night temperatures were above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at a few places over Gujarat region and Rayalaseema; at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Telangana and Lakshadweep.
The bulletin said the night temperatures remained below normal (-3.0°C to -1.6°C) at a few places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and near normal over rest parts of the country.
On Friday, the lowest minimum temperature of 10.8°C was reported at Adampur (Haryana) over the plains of the country.
Hailstorm was reported at isolated places over south Assam, east Madhya Pradesh and north interior Odisha.
Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Jharkhand and at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, west Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mainly dry weather has prevailed in west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and coastal Karnataka.
Following observations for the past 24 hrs were recorded at 0830 hrs today.
