ECoR sets new record in Railway infrastructure development

Bhubaneswar, Apr 7 (UNI) East Coast Railway (ECoR) has achieved a remarkable milestone in the 2024-25 financial year, setting new records in Railway infrastructure development.
The Railway zone has successfully added a total of 281.5 kilometer of new lines and multi-tracking, marking an impressive 50 percent increase over the previous fiscal year’s achievement of 187.2 kilometer.

ECoR's Construction team has made significant strides in accelerating project timelines and enhancing the quality of infrastructure development with regular coordination with state Government authorities and other stakeholders.

This substantial progress also underscores ECoR's commitment to enhancing the region’s Railway network, ensuring smooth operations, and improving transportation efficiency for both freight and passenger services.

ECoR Sources said 281.5 Km of new lines and multi-tracking added in the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The New Lines and Multi Tracking projects such as Laksahmipur Road-Singaram-Tikiri, a distance of 22.94 Km of Koraput-Singapur Road (Rayagada) Doubling Project; Dantewada-Kamlur Section and Bacheloi-Kirandul Section, a stretch of total 23.64 Km of Kirandul-Jagadalpur Doubling project; Dhenkanal-Sadashivpur-Hindol Road, a stretch of 40.62Km of Budhapank-Salegaon 3rd & 4th Line project; Sonepur-Purunakatak a distance of 73.16 Km of Khurda Road-Balangir Rail Line Project; Darliput-Girapur, a distance of 12.65 Km of Kottavalasa-Koraput Doubling Project; Ranital (Bhadrak) Junction Cabin-Bhadrak, a distance of 5 Km of Bhadrak-Nergundi 3rd Line Project have already been commissioned.
Apart from this, Samal-Parabil (6.53Km) of Talcher-Bimalagarh New Line; Darliput-Padua (9.77Km), Karakavalasa-Similiguda (9 Km) & Suku-Koraput (11.16Km) of Kottavalasa-Koraput Doubling project; Hindol Road-Meramundali (27.28km) of Budhapank-Salegaon 3rd & 4th Line project; Baiguda-Kakiriguma (12.39 Km) of Koraput-Singapur Road Doubling; Talcher-Talcher Road (6.50Km) of Jarapada-Budhapank 3rd & 4th Line project; Manabar-Jarati (9.34 Km) of Koraput-Jagadalpur Doubling project and Baitarani Road-Jajpur Keonjhar Road (11.60Km) of Bhadrak-Nergundi 3rd Line project have also been completed.
The ambitious expansion and investment in infrastructure are part of ECoR’s broader strategy to modernize its railways and contribute to the national objective of improving rail connectivity, promoting economic development, and ensuring a sustainable and efficient transportation system.
The achievements in 2024-25 serve as a foundation for future growth, with continued commitment to safety, sustainability, and customer satisfaction as the core values driving ECoR’s vision for the future.
