ED action against Sonia, Rahul politically motivated: Chennithala

Nagpur, Apr 16 (UNI) Accusing the Cenre's Narendra Modi government of acting against Congress leaders "boldly standing up" to the BJP regime, Congress' Maharashtra in-charge Ramesh Chennithala on Wednesday termed as "politically motivated" the ED’s chargesheet against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in te National Herald case.
Claiming that top Congress leaders were being "harassed unnecessarily", he said this wasn't the first time the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has interrogated them.
The Congress is not "afraid" of actions by the ED or CBI, he said. "Every Congress worker will stand united and protest against this action," said Chennithala.
In an effort to maintain social harmony and peace in Nagpur, the Congress organised a Sadbhavna Shanti padayatra during the day.
Speaking on the occasion, Chennithala said that the Congress has launched this Sadbhavna Yatra to stop the discrimination being carried out in the name of caste and religion, and such yatras should be held across the state.
He alleged the BJP was "creating divisions" based on caste and religion." While people of all castes and religions live peacefully in Nagpur, who is responsible for the recent violence in the city? The Chief Minister and Home Minister are from Nagpur — how is it that they did they not get information about the incident? Did the intelligence department inform them or not?" he asked.

He demanded the Maharashtra government and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis conduct an impartial inquiry and punish the guilty. UNI VKB SSP
