Kochi, Apr 2 (UNI) The Kerala High Court on Wednesday granted bail to 10 members of Popular Front of India (PFI) in the RSS district leader Sreenivasan murder case in 2022.
A division bench of Justices A Raja Vijayaraghavan and P V Balkrishnan granted relief to the banned PFI members -- Shefeek, B Jafar, H Jamsheer, Abdul Basith, K Muhammed Shefeek, K Asharaf, B Jishad, Ashraf Maulavi and Sirajudheen.
The 10 accused had moved High Court after a special NIA court denied them bail in the case.
Earlier, the High Court had granted bail to 17 other accused PFI members in the case on June 25, 2024.
Following this, NIA had filed an appeal and this was under consideration of the Supreme Court.
As many as 51 accused PFI / SDPI members are arraigned in connection with RSS leader Sreenivasan murder case, in which one accused died and seven others are still absconding.
Notably, on April 16, 2022, RSS leader Sreenivasan was hacked to death at his shop at Melamuri by suspected PFI members, as a political revenge against the murder of PFI local leader A Subair of Elappully by suspected RSS volunteers on April 15.
Earlier, PFI / SDPI workers killed Sanjith (27) the RSS "boudhik Pramukh" of Thenari mandalam unit on November 15, 2021.
