Manipur: Man arrested in domestic violence case

Imphal, Apr 28 (UNI) Manipur Police arrested a man on Monday in connection with an alleged domestic violence case.

Police said on Sunday, a zero FIR (first information report) was registered at Women Police Station, Churachandpur on the basis of a written report regarding domestic violence case meted out to a woman, who was married to one Naocha Khaidem of Tangjeng, under Kumbi-PS, Bishnupur district, Manipur.

It was alleged that the woman was harassed by her husband and other members of the family.

The said victim is currently undergoing treatment at district hospital.

Based on the zero FIR, a case was registered at Women Police Station, Imphal East district.

Investigation of the case is in progress and the husband has been arrested by the police for further investigation.
