Meghalaya: MBOSE SSLC results 2025 declared with 87.10 pass percentage

Shillong, Apr 5 (UNI) The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) declared the Class X Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) result 2025 on Saturday, with an impressive pass percentage of 87.10 - a jump of 31.3 percent from the 2024 results.
Out of the 63,682 students who appeared for the SSLC examination, 2025, 55,473 students successfully passed.
The SSLC pass percentage over the past few years has hovered around the 50-55 percent mark. In 2021, the pass percentage was 52.90, and in 2022 it was 56.96 percent. In 2023, the pass percentage was 51.93 and in 2024 it was 55.80 percent.
This year’s result is significant, in which the students performed exceedingly well, and a jump of over 30 percent can be termed as impressive.
Students from West Jaintia Hills district had the highest pass percentage with 96.03 and South West Garo Hills had the lowest with 74.77 percent.
East Khasi Hills district has the highest number (15656) of students appearing for the examination, out of which 14489 students passed with a pass percentage of 92.54. South West Khasi Hills had the lowest number (2190) of students appearing for the examination, and 2079 passed.
Leisha Agarwal from St. Margaret's Higher Secondary School, Shillong and Avila Kathrene P Lyngdoh from North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Jowai, jointly topped the merit list with 582 marks among the top twenty rank holders.
The second spot was again shared between Evanshan Nongrum from Sacred Heart Boys' Higher Secondary School, Shillong, and Pori Panday of Jawaharlal Nehru Higher Secondary School, Phulbari with 578 marks each.
The third sport was shared by Anushmita Choudhury from St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Shillong, Sourav Pandey, Alpha English Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh and Eulogemene Rilin L Suting K.J.P. Synod Mihngi Higher Secondary School, Jowai with each bagging 576 marks.
Congratulating the students who passed with flying colours in the SSLC examinations, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma posted on X : “May this first leap to your future motivate you to strive for greater things.
This year’s result, touching 87.10 percent pass percentage is a path-breaking result, exceeding the record of the results of the past years, which have been hovering in the 50 percent range.I also extend my heartiest congratulations’ to all the 341 schools who achieved 100 percent pass percentage,” he added.
