Tripura: Accused in police remand for committing sexual assault on 5-year-old

Agartala, Mar 11 (UNI) A local court of Tripura’s Sepahijala district on Tuesday sent a 21-year-old youth to three days of police remand for allegedly committing sexual assault on a five-year-old girl in Sudhir Chandra Para under Killa-Burma ADC village of Jampuijala on February 18.
Police arrested the accused, Election Debbarma, for the crime on Monday, a day after filing an FIR with Radhapur police station by the victim’s parents.
According to police, the parents of the minor girl had gone to attend a marriage ceremony in the neighbouring village, leaving the girl alone at home.
