Kaushasmbi (UP), May 4 (UNI) Four persons were killed and one other was injured when a car collided with a tree in Pipri area of Kaushambi district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Sunday.
Taking cognisance of the road accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. He has directed the officials to speed up the relief work, also gave instructions for proper treatment of the injured.
Police sources said that the incident took place late on Saturday night when five persons were returning to Prayagraj after attending the wedding ceremony of the daughter of Daulat Singh, a resident of Dariyapur locality under Pipri police station. "As soon as they reached Gungwa Ki Bagh in Pipri, the car lost control and collided with the tree," they said.
Police sources said that car passengers, including Sunil Kumar Patel (35), Ravi Kumar (38), Chand Badan (38), all residents of Pura Mufti in Prayagraj and Air Force employee Vikas Kumar, a resident of Ballia, died on the spot. "The car driver Amit Kumar (30), a resident of Dhoomanganj in Prayagraj was seriously injured in the incident," they said.
Police sources said that on receiving the information, the police reached the spot and with the help of JCB, the bodies of the four deceased trapped inside the car were taken out. "The injured Amit Kumar was taken out and admitted to the district hospital for treatment," they said.
