J&K DGP reviews overall security scenario ahead of Amarnath Yatra at Anantnag

Srinagar, June 30 (UNI) Ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra, the Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Nalin Prabhat today chaired a high level joint security review meeting to assess the overall security scenario in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The 38-day-long Amarnath Yatra begins on July 3 from the twin routes of Pahalgam in south Kashmir and Baltal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district amid multi-tier security set up in place.
The meeting, which was held at Range Police headquarters Anantnag the DGP Prabhat, accompanied by Special DGP Coordination SJM Gillani, IGP Security J&K Sujit Kumar, DIGP SKR and other senior officers conducted an extensive field visit of key areas in and around Pahalgam along the Yatra route, a police spokesman said.
