Patna, Mar 31(UNI) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday congratulated the newly elected President, General Secretary and Treasurer of Patna University Students' Union, saying it was a reflection of women empowerment in Bihar.
Kumar, in his message, said it was an extreme pleasure for him that all three girl students were elected to three important posts of the Patna University Students' Union. It was a reflection of women's empowerment in Bihar, he added.
" Maithili Mrinalini has been elected as President of Patna University Students' Union, while Saloni Raj and Soumya Srivastava have been elected as
General Secretary and Treasurer of the Union ", the Chief Minister said, adding that results indicated that the self-confidence of women had increased considerably in Bihar. They were performing well in sectors of activities, he noted.
It is for the first time in history that girls were elected to three of the top five positions of the Patna University Students' Union.
