Mizoram Raj Bhavan celebrates foundation day of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha

Aizawl, Apr 1 (UNI) The Mizoram Raj Bhavan on Monday hosted the foundation day of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, promoting cultural unity and national integration.
Mizoram Governor General (Dr) VK Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), welcomed attendees and stressed the importance of engaging with diverse cultures to build a more connected India. He paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for unifying the country’s princely states and highlighted the Northeast’s rich heritage.
The event featured video messages from Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, along with cultural performances by students from Mizoram University, NIT Mizoram, and Government J. Thankima College. Experts from Mizoram University spoke on the historical significance of Rajasthan and Odisha.
Bihar, formed in 1912, is home to Nalanda University and Bodh Gaya. Rajasthan, created in 1949, is famed for its distinctively coloured cities. Odisha, established in 1936, was India’s first state based on linguistic identity.
Since June 2023, Mizoram Raj Bhavan has been organising state foundation day celebrations to foster cultural exchange under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

Mizoram border district issues strict guidelines for Myanmar refugees
