Arunachal Raj Bhavan celebrates Utkala Dibasa, showcasing Odisha’s cultural heritage

Itanagar, Apr 1 (UNI) The Foundation Day of Odisha, ‘Utkala Dibasa,’ was celebrated with enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on Tuesday.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik joined the Odia community in the state to mark the occasion.
Extending his warm greetings to the people of Odisha, the Governor conveyed the best wishes of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasized that celebrating the statehood days of different states fosters unity and provides an opportunity for deeper engagement with communities contributing to Arunachal Pradesh’s development.
Parnaik noted that such events help in understanding their achievements, challenges, and role in the state’s progress.
The Governor highlighted the significant role of the Odia community in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in the fields of education and social welfare. Expressing his gratitude, he lauded their contributions and hoped that the enduring goodwill between the two states would continue to strengthen and drive Arunachal Pradesh toward greater development under the vision of ‘Viksit Arunachal.’
The celebration featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing Odisha’s rich traditions. Participants presented Vande Utkal Janani, the patriotic song by Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra, along with the traditional song Ama Odisha. Pratyusha, Vedanti Patra, and Ritumbra Dash performed traditional Odia dances such as Asila Utkal Divas, Sriksetra Dham, and Ahe Nila Shaila.
Additionally, Chinmayee Nayak and her team presented the ‘Chira Charita Odisha’ dance.
As part of Governor’s efforts to promote cultural exchange, Manami Moyir Gamlin, an Arunachali student from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Nirjuli, performed Mangalam, an Odissi dance piece set to rhythmic traditional ‘Bols’, as a prelude to a divine invocation.
Adding to the event’s inclusivity, students and instructors from Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired, Chimpu, attended the celebration as special guests of the Governor, reflecting the spirit of oneness.
The Governor hosted a High Tea and interacted with invitees and participants, making the event a memorable occasion of cultural exchange and camaraderie, a communiqué from the Raj Bhavan said.
