Police establishes helpline for victims of terrorism in several Kashmir districts

Srinagar, July 2 (UNI) A day after J&K LG Manoj Sinha ordered the reopening of "deliberately buried" terror cases, police in several districts in Kashmir launched a helpline to support victims’ families.
The helpline has been established in Anantnag, Budgam, Baramulla and Sopore.
Police said this initiative is intended to facilitate the registration and resolution of grievances of terrorism affected families across the district.
In Anantnag district, helpline has been established at the District Police Office Anantnag. Victims or their kin can approach the helpline number 01932-222870 to register grievances or seek assistance.
In Budgam district, the victims or their family members can reach out to the helpline number 9541902668 established at District Police Office Budgam, available from Monday to Saturday, between 10 AM and 6 PM.
In Baramulla district, the helpline has been established at District Police Headquarter Baramulla. Affected individuals or their families can approach the helpline number 95419-40261 through voice call, SMS and WhatsApp on all working days between 10 am to 6pm.
Besides, in Sopore sub-district, police has established a helpline at District Police Headquarters, Sopore and affected individuals or their families can approach helpline numbers 9596773073 or 01954222313 from 10 AM to 6 PM on all working days.
J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha yesterday asked civil and police heads of all districts to reopen cases of terror victims “which were deliberately buried” in the last three decades and ensure that government jobs are provided to their next of kin on a priority basis.
