Prohibitory orders imposed after a mob burns BJP leader’s house in Manipur

Imphal, Apr 7 (UNI) The house of the BJP Minority Morcha President, Md Asker Ali, was burnt at Lilong, Thoubal district by a mob on Sunday night. Ali had reportedly given a statement supporting the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025. A huge mob later burnt his house.
The Thoubal district administration on Monday imposed prohibitory orders at Lilong Assembly constituency, which is a Meitei Pangal (Muslim) dominated area. Security was tightened in the area following the convergence of a large number of people who came from other parts of the state. Ali retracted his statement however, his house was burnt by the mob.
