Seven, including five militants, nabbed in Manipur

Imphal, Mar 24 (UNI) Manipur Police and security personnel nabbed seven persons, including five militants, in separate incidents during the last 24 hours.

Manipur Police said on Monday that security forces arrested two persons for involvement in a clash that took place on Mar 22 in which four persons were injured in Imphal East.

Security forces arrested three individuals from Lamdeng Khunou under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District. They were involved in extortion/abduction activities by using the name of the KCP (PWG) organisation, police said.

Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of UNLF at Imphal West District. He was involved in extortion activities from transport vehicles. In another operation, security forces arrested one active member of PREPAK (Pro) from Imphal East District.

Security forces arrested three active cadres of PREPAK(Pro) from Kumbi Terakhong under Kumbi-PS, Bishnupur District. From them, one. 303 LMG, LMG Magazine and other ammunition were recovered.

In an operation police recovered 2” mortar. 32 pistols with magazines, 36 hand grenades and other materials from Awaching under Porompat-PS, Imphal East District. One INSAS rifle (mod butt) with magazine. 303 Rifle with Magazine and SLR Rifle with Magazine were recovered from the jungle adjacent to the L. Phaikot area in the Kangpokpi District.
