Seven militants nabbed in Manipur, rocket bomb recovered

Imphal, May 21 (UNI) Manipur Police and security forces nabbed seven militants in different operations during the last two days.

Security personnel also recovered rocket bombs, improvised mortar and other arms and ammunition from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.

Police said on Wednesday that security forces arrested three militants from Langmeidong, Elangkhangpokpi and Kakching Ningthou Pareng area under Waikhong-PS, Kakching District.

Security forces arrested a militant at Langthabal Khunou near Primary School under Khongjom-PS, Thoubal District with a 9 mm Pistol in a separate operation.

In an operation at Sawombung area under Lamlai-PS, Imphal East District security forces arrested a militant. Further security forces arrested a militant from Kakwa Naorem Leikai under Singjamei-PS, Imphal West District .

Security forces also arrested another militant from Lamlongei Sabal Leikai under Lamsang-PS, Imphal West District.



Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces at Gothol Village under Churachandpur-PS, Churachandpur District one Excalibur Rifle, two country made Mortar (Pumpi), five Mortar (Pumpi) round/bomb (medium size), one Rocket Bomb and large numbers of ammunition were recovered. One SBBL Gun was recovered from the forest area of Konsakhul village under Leimakhong-PS, Kangpokpi District.

One each of SLR with magazine, DBBL (Shot Gun), two Bolt Action Rifle, four local made Pull Mechanism Rifle, five Improvised Mortar (Pumpi) and other items were recovered from the general area of Pholjang-Tingkhai village track under New Keithelmanbi-PS, Kangpokpi District.
