Two JBT teachers suspended for unauthorised absence from school

Shimla, Apr 26 (UNI) In strict action against dereliction of duty, two Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers from Government Primary School (GPS) Shilal, under the Education Block Kupvi in District Shimla, have been suspended with immediate effect.
The move follows a surprise inspection conducted by the Block Elementary Education Officer (BEEO), Kupvi, on April 25.
According to the official notification issued by the Deputy Director of Elementary Education, Shimla, it was found that Ranveer Chauhan (JBT) and Dalveer Singh (JBT), along with other staff and students, were absent from the school without any prior intimation.
The inspection, carried out at 1:40 pm, revealed that all classrooms were locked, raising serious concerns about the functioning of the institution.
Invoking sub-rule (1) of Rule 10 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1965, the Deputy Director immediately ordered the suspension of both teachers.
During the suspension period, their headquarters have been shifted to the Office of Block Elementary Education Officer, Dodra Kawar, District Shimla. The teachers are prohibited from leaving their headquarters without obtaining prior permission from the Naib Tehsildar-cum-BEEO of Dodra Kawar.
In an effort to minimise disruption to students' education, the Block Elementary Education Officer, Kupvi, has been directed to depute a replacement teacher to GPS Shilal by April 28.
This action underscores the education department’s commitment to ensuring accountability and maintaining discipline among teaching staff. Authorities have emphasised that any negligence affecting the students' learning environment will be dealt with firmly.
Copies of the suspension order have been sent to the Director of Elementary Education, Himachal Pradesh, and other concerned officers for necessary action.
