Unhygienic conditions found in residential quarters of soldiers in Police Line Bharari, Shimla

Shimla, April 26 (UNI) A surprise inspection conducted at the Aahat Line Haza, located at Police Line Bharari, District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh on Saturday revealed concerning levels of disorder and unhygienic conditions in the residential quarters assigned to soldiers.
The unhygienic conditions of B-Block and D-Block were particularly concerning.
In B-Block, where multiple barracks are provided for the accommodation of soldiers, clothes, shoes, and other essential items were found scattered in a highly disorderly manner.
Garbage was also found lying around, contributing to the overall mess. In addition to the untidiness inside the barracks, unnecessary grass and bushes were observed growing around the B-Block premises, further spoiling the environment.
The inspection also highlighted serious cleanliness issues in D-Block, where the Dog Squad is stationed. The lower floor of the building was found heavily littered with dog excreta and overgrown grass, resulting in an unpleasant environment.
This has been adversely affecting the pedestrians and the personnel living and working in the offices and barracks located above the Dog Squad area.
Taking serious note of these findings, the Reserve Inspector issued strict instructions to the In-charges of the SDRF, SSU, HPPO, and Dog Squad to immediately ensure cleanliness in their respective areas.
It was emphasised that any negligence in maintaining hygiene would hold the respective in-charge personally responsible.
The Reserve Inspector also appealed to the basic human sentiment of the soldiers, urging every member of the Line Hazara to actively participate in keeping their surroundings clean.
