Hyderabad, Mar 19 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar strongly criticised the Telangana budget 2025-26 presented by Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, describing it as empty and misleading.
In his statement issued here on Wednesday, Bandi Sanjay accused the Congress government of manipulating budget figures to deceive the public.
He claimed that despite increased allocations, the budget failed to deliver on key election promises, particularly the six guarantees. He remarked that the Congress, which once called its manifesto a "holy book," had now reduced it to a "scrap of paper."
Bandi Sanjay highlighted the absence of crucial allocations for promised schemes such as Rs 2,500 monthly support for women, gold and scooties, unemployment benefits, and increased old-age pensions. He criticised the budget for lacking provisions for critical sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture.
He further alleged that the Congress government had surpassed the previous BRS administration in financial mismanagement, claiming that Telangana's debt burden had surged alarmingly. He demanded transparency in budget spending and called for amendments to ensure the implementation of the six guarantees.
